New Zealand-born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Janine, has released her highly-anticipated new single, “Unstable.” The sultry new track tells the powerful story of a rocky relationship, while showcasing her passionate, ethereal vocals. The new track follows the emotional single, “Don’t Love Me,” which premiered via Billboard in March.
“I started writing and producing ‘Unstable’ 2 years ago and then brought it to 4E to help co-produce, so I’m really excited to have this track out,” says Janine, “At the time, I used to talk about my relationship and say ‘When it’s good it’s really good and when it’s bad it’s so, so… SO bad.’ The truth is if you’re in that kind of relationship it’s not good at all, but sometimes we as people take time to unravel situations that are bad for us. ‘Unstable’ is about that back and forth. Now I’m happy with the relationships in my life and I want people listening to always remember you can be and deserve to be happy.”
Janine began her musical career by performing at open mic nights in her native Auckland when she was just 14 years old. She soon developed her own unique blend of pop, indie, R&B, and hip hop, all built around her emotional songwriting, otherworldly vocals, and utterly individualistic persona. Janine’s first project, “DARK MIND” released under her own Little Mixtapes Records in 2013, immediately shot her to the spotlight -– as well as the top 2 on the iTunes Store’s “Top R&B Albums” chart. The EP – which also includes the hit single/video, “Little Bit” (featured on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Hollywood) – received worldwide applause, with high praise from such outlets as MTV, Billboard, VIBE Vixen, Complex, and VIBE, which ranked Janine among their “R&B Secret Society: 26 Acts You Should Be Listening To.”
Unquestionably, Janine is a fiercely talented songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. But, her greatest weapon: an ethereal and devastatingly beautiful voice that commands every single verse, hook and refrain. She’s magnetic – bringing you into her world with that swanky tone and the perfect blend of R&B, Hip-Hop and Indie.
